Safe woods for perches

Not All Woods Are Safe!

This list is not exhaustive for a more complete list see our safe plants list. How you prepare your branches for use as a perch is a personal decision. Many people insists on washing and scrubbing them prior to use, some sappy timbers require curing. I just cut them to size, examine them for signs of contamination from faecal matter, mould, fungus, ants and spiders then give them a hose down with some cold water and leave to dry.
